Please Note

Important, before you start ...

  • Please take measurements using INCHES. You can convert mm measurements to inches .
  • Use a cloth or flexible tape measure when taking your measurements, not a metal one.
  • If you only have a metal tape measure use a piece of string or ribbon to find the circumference of the specific measurement, then measure the string or ribbon at the correct length against with the metal tape measure.
  • When measuring having someone to help you or a mirror at hand will help.
  • Take the measurements on your skin, not over clothes, and note them down as you go.
  • When measuing a circumfrence make sure the tape measure is level.

What measurement are required?

Measurement Guides

Once you are ready you can submit and update your measurement details in your organiser

A. Height

Remove shoes and stand with feet flat and the back straight. Measure from top of your head to the floor. You may need someone to help you with this one!

Alternatively here are some instructions to help you measure your height yourself:

  • Find a flat, straight object such as a book or a ruler.
  • Place the object on top of the head and stand with the back straight against a wall and feet flat.
  • Ensure the chosen object is straight and parallel with the floor. This is easier to do by looking in a mirror.
  • Use a pencil to mark the wall where the object touches the top of the head.
  • Measure from the floor to the pencil mark.
B. Head

Pass tape measure around the circumference of your head above your ears and across your forehead.

C. Neck

Pass tape measure around the neck leaving a finger’s space of slack to mimic a collar, not too tight, but not too loose.

D. Chest

Measure the circumference of your chest. Place one end of the tape measure at the fullest part of your bust, wrap it around (under your armpits, around your shoulder blades, and back to the front) to get the measurement. For Bra measurement input your usual Bra size

E. Natural Waist

Pass tape measure around the circumference of your natural waistline, which is located above your belly button. The crease that forms when you bend from side to side is your natural waistline.

F. Trouser Waist

Pass tape measure around the circumference of your waist below your belly button – where your jeans or trousers would sit.

G. Hips

Pass tape measure around the circumference of your hips, at the fullest part of your hips across your bottom. This one is done best in front of a mirror!

H. Inside Leg

Place the tape measure at the top of your inner thigh on one leg – pass the tape down your straight leg until you reach about 1 inch from the floor – where a trouser hem would sit. You may need a friend to help you with this one. As a general guide, most average-sized people will be somewhere between 28 and 34 inches, perhaps a couple of inches less if very short and a couple of inches more if very tall.
